Rambutan, Banana and Spinach Smoothie

2 Servings

This healthy smoothie features rambutans and spinach, both of which are famous for their vitamin C content. One of the most important roles of vitamin C is to help keep your skin and veins strong and healthy by providing antioxidant protection and increasing production of collagen and elastin. Rambutans also provide a hearty helping of copper and manganese, while the baby spinach in this smoothie ensures you'll also be getting plenty of carotenoids, vitamin K, B vitamins (including folate), calcium, iron, magnesium, and potassium. Flaxseed oil is added to the blend for its omega-3 fatty acid content and its ability to facilitate the absorption of fat-soluble vitamins.

Tweak It!

To keep things interesting, tweak the basic recipe by replacing the orange juice with one of the other ingredients provided in the Tweak It! box at the bottom of this page. The Tweak It! box contains seven ingredients, one for each day of the week.
